Boats

I gaze upon the tranquil sea—
oh, what a day for sailing!
Harbor master, help me, please!
Which ship shall I be haling?

“Aye, be my guest and feast your eyes
upon our port’s assortment.
Each vessel’s special, I do apprise—
all rare in their deportments.”

“Hop aboard the Brine and Shine
if glim and glam you seek,
or take a ride on High-Tide Clyde
he’s slim and ooh, he’s sleek!”

“Please, grab the helm of Water Trotter
or Aft-er You, I insist;
There’s Clam-ity Jane, named after me daughter!
Her suitors…long dismissed.”

“For the troubled soul, Send Kelp‘s a-callin’
lest you feel besotted
by the plumage old Seacock‘s a-haulin’
for this rental you’re allotted.”

“Feeling right the salty boater?
Anchor Management is your ride;
Or cast your vote for Registered Floater,
upon the waves, she’ll glide!”

“If Wake and Lake is more your speed
hop on, she’ll do your bidding.
A laugh upon a craft, you need?
This boat’s a joke—Just Squidding.”

“Nothing here to catch your eye?
Oh come now, quit your sulkin’
I saved the best for last, my guy—
Macaulay Nauticulkin.”
